Small towels and drinking water are both available free of charge. We encourage you to bring your own bottle or cup to reduce waste. Your yoga mat may be left at the studio (at your own risk) provided it is marked with your name and secured with a sturdy strap. Mats are available for $2 rental or on sale at the studio. We encourage you to have your own mat.
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Vinyasa Flow classes are an inspiring blend of fun flow rooted in traditional alignment, with a focus on feeling, breath, integrity, and core strength. Vinyasa yoga provides the space for people to explore their power, delight their spirit, move with their breath, and go deeper into their True Self. Classes include a blend of flowing and heat-inducing movements and will include a blend of standing poses, arm balances, twists, hip-openers back bends and more. Classes will leave you feeling aligned internally and externally and in a blissful state of being. We offer Mixed Level Vinyasa (all levels) and Intermediate Level Vinyasa (level 2/3).
Gentle Yoga classes are relaxing with an emphasis on stretching and increasing flexibility. This is a gentle class using different variations and progression of poses with modifications being offered. You will learn to work with your breath in order to deepen awareness and relieve stress. Gentle Yoga classes are suitable for beginners and intermediate students.*
Pilates Mat Classes focus on core strength and use of the breath. The movements are done on the floor (sitting or lying down) so there is no impact on the joints. The class begins gently with stretching and progresses to more challenging movements to help strengthen your core as well as increase your flexibility and strength of the pelvis and shoulders. Balance exercises are often included. All levels are welcome.*
CLASSES
Forrest Yoga (developed by Ana Forrest) uses intense pose sequences, compassionately taught, to develop skills in awakening each of the senses. Class typically begins with pranayama (breath work) and deep core work, progressing into a strong series of asanas. Forrest Yoga teaches you use breath to bring vitality into every cell of your body, igniting your passion for living. The room is heated to 84 degrees. All levels welcome.
Slow Flow Yoga is appropriate for all levels. Slow flow yoga will help you find delight and comfort in your body’s strength, flexibility and vitality. Expand your capacity to cultivate greater awareness and opening as you breathe and move more freely with clarity and grace.*
All level Yoga with awareness, will lead the beginner into proper movement and placement towards alignment, and takes the more seasoned practitioner towards greater understanding, better alignment and refinement of the poses. These classes are bold, strong, energetic, yet refreshing and restorative. All levels welcome.*
Restorative Yoga Release, relax, renew. Allow your body to be supported (by bolsters, blocks, blankets, the earth) for the deepest of relaxation. All levels are welcome to come and completely unwind. Be prepared to quiet your mind while you recharge your body.*
Introduction to Yoga A FREE workshop to introduce or welcome you back to the practice of yoga. Limited class sizes with beginning level students will ensure you get the instruction you need to develop a strong base for your on-going practice. *
Creative Movement This joyful class may also be described as an introduction to modern dance. We move through a floor sequence firing up the core, flow into some grounding walking exercises, and class culminates in some simple, guided phrase-work. Yoga and Pilates teachings are incorporated throughout class. The environment is fun, supportive, and adventurous. All levels are welcome. Please wear movement and yoga attire, classes are taught barefoot.
Modern Dance In modern dance we celebrate strength, exploration and abandon. We warm the body with a continuation of the exercises introduced in our Creative Movement class. Moving from our center, articulating our spines and joints, and feeling our weight, we each experience the joy of movement in a unique way. This class is deisgned to eventually lead to performance opportunities. Previous movement/dance experience suggested.
